Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay

I've been finding it very hard to feel 'Christmassy' when it's 30 degrees outside & I'm a long way from home, family & friends so decided that I needed an injection of Christmas cheer. I was joined by my condo neighbours JB, DB & JM all fellow Brits.
The Gardens by the Bay sounded like it might have the answer- it's Christmas Wonderland with Luminarie light sculptures specially constructed and flown in from Italy, an impressive two century old Spiegeltent, a European style Christmas market and an illuminated Casa Armonica gazebo complete with snow blizzard machine.

Walking towards the Gardens the Marina Bay Sands looked very festive in pink and the Supertrees stand out shining in the distance.

On the way there was a reminder that Singapore is not shy of major projects, a row of what looked like mature trees in the process of being planted, involving JCBs digging the planting hole and cranes to lift in the tree.
Then we came to the start of the light sculptures, starting with a series of arches.

and a Chinese lion standing guard

The Supertrees all looked spectacular lit from below

There was a long queue to go inside the Speigeltent so I just took photos of the outside panels

Next was the Casa Armonica gazebo which was really pretty and by good fortune we were just in time to catch a snow blizzard which happens 3 times a night

Looking upwards the 'snow'  really was very realistic, it just seemed rather peculiar not to feel frozen wearing shorts and a sleeveless shirt!

We couldn't find the gluwein stall preferring to head up to the top of the tallest Supertree's bar, it was starting to rain but still the view was pretty impressive

Nicely in focus but no background

Not in focus but great background shot!

Christmas fairies-super tall as they were on stilts, of course!

.....and even a stowman

The trip to the Gardens definitely helped put me into the Christmas spirit, or was that the wine? either way it was a fun evening, a little surreal at times but that's Singapore for you
